Who and Why?

Addicts and Alcoholics Have the Experience to Share about their Stuggles that can not be explained through just statistics or research. Service is a key action that aids  recovering addicts and alcoholics in staying clean and sober.  Sharing their experience not only helps students make a better decision regarding  using drugs or underage drinking, but  the act of service helps them stay sober.

Drugs and Alcohol effect the frontal lobes of the brain.  The latest research show that the fontal lobes of the brain are developing until one reaches 25 years old. It really makes sense to encourage kids to let their brain develop fully before even considering partaking in alcohol consumption or other drug use(if they are legal)

The fate of an addict or alcoholic is recovery, years of wreckage, institutions(treatment centers, jails and prisons), or death. Recovery rates are 3-5%*  The Solution is reduce the number of future addicts by teaching young people that the choice to use drugs or drink comes with HUGE risk (particularly as young person) and it's NOT some right of passage into popularity or adulthood to get high or drunk..

A LARGE PERCENTAGE OF  MEN AND WOMEN IN JAILS AND PRISONS ARE ADDICTS AND ALCOHOLICS AND MOST ALL STARTING DRINKING AND USING IN THEIR TEENS OR YOUNGER

*It is estimated that only 3-5% of addicts or alcoholics make it to 5 years sobriety the first time they seek help or treatment
